Vickers Hardness Variation on the Part and Welding Cord Subjected to Plastic Deformation

چکیده

By performing Vickers identifications in the area of weld bead and areas adjacent to it, degree plastic deformation can be assessed, highlighting different hardness case welding base material. During this work, welded specimens were made central with a double V-shaped cord. One was loading until breaking, noting that rupture occurred an further away from area. Another 13 required at varying degrees deformation. Stresses above elastic limit create differences those its vicinity. Due fact material have characteristics, much more pronounced deformations occur compared bead. It found suffered significantly greater than Significant relative

Finite element analysis of elastic-plastic solids under Vickers indentation: surface deformation

Finite element modeling has been used to study the development of surface deformation during indentation with a Vickers indenter. A wide range of materials with different elastic modulus and yield stresses are examined. Results show that in a pyramidal indentation process, for a perfectly plastic material, sinking-in during loading can change to pile-up in unloading. This phenomenon depends on ...

Low-Load Vickers Microindentation Hardness Testing

ADVANCED MATERIALS & PROCESSES • APRIL 2012 I n 1925 in the UK, Smith and Sandland developed an indentation test that used a squarebased pyramidal-shaped indenter made of diamond[1]. The test was developed because the Brinell test (introduced in 1900), which (until recently) used a round hardened steel ball indenter, could not test steels harder than ~450 HB (~48 HRC). They chose this shape wit...

Deformation Behavior and Microstructure Evolution of NiTiCu Shape Memory Alloy Subjected to Plastic Deformation at High Temperatures

Deformation behavior and microstructure evolution of NiTiCu shape memory alloy (SMA), which possesses martensite phase at room temperature, were investigated based on a uniaxial compression test at the temperatures of 700~1000 ◦C and at the strain rates of 0.0005~0.5 s−1. The constitutive equation of NiTiCu SMA was established in order to describe the flow characteristic of NiTiCu SMA, which is...

Applications of Differential Scanning Calorimetry on Materials Subjected by Severe Plastic deformation

Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is a thermal analysis technique that measures the energy absorbed or released by a sample as a function of temperature or time. DSC has wide application for analysis of solid state reactions and solid-liquid reactions in many different materials. In recent years, DSC has been applied to analyze materials and alloys processed through Severe Plastic Deforma...

Influence of structural heterogeneity on the structural coarsening during annealing of polycrystalline Ni subjected to dynamic plastic deformation

The structural heterogeneity of a polycrystalline Ni subjected to dynamic plastic deformation to a strain of 2.3 was characterized, and its influence on the structural coarsening behaviour during post annealing was investigated. Structural heterogeneity on the large scale manifests itself by formation of two types of layers: low misoriented regions (LMRs) and highly misoriented regions (HMRs). ...
